Sports law:
If you are contemplating any risk management initiative the first step is to know exactly what is your potential legal liability. If you don’t know what you are protecting yourself against you could be either wasting your time or leaving yourself exposed. It would be like going into a war not knowing what weapons the enemy had: a recipe for disaster as any general would tell you.
So the first step is legal education. At SRMG, the legal side is handled by Sportscounsel. Sportscounsel is run by Michael Smyth who is a practising barrister in New Zealand and also admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales. He also hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Sports Law from Kings College, London University.
Once you know what your legal liability is then you need to know how to implement your risk management initiatives. For that you need Sportsrisk.
